Ceva Animal Health Malaysia and Agritech Enterprise Sdn. Bhd. hosted another exciting seminar, Layer Day 2016 on Thursday, 14th April 2016 at Novotel Hotel Melaka. This seminar was well attended by over 40 guests from different regions in Malaysia, which included proprietors and professionals from the layer industry.
The seminar was inaugurated with opening remarks by Dr. Amanda Lim, Area Manager of Ceva Animal Health Asia. The full day seminar was started off by Dr. Chin How Cheong, who is a senior poultry consultant. He gave an overview of world eggs production status, and also some possible causes of low peak production. Then Dr. Lee Jin-ee, Product & Technical Executive of Ceva Animal Health Malaysia, expressed in his presentation about “IB variant as an economical importance disease in Layers”. He gave an insight of the disease in layers, and Cevac IBird was promoted as an efficacious solution for the current disease situation.
The seminar continued with third guest speaker, Dr. Roberto Soares, Asia Veterinary Services Manager of Ceva Animal Health Asia who shared his experience on Marek’s Disease in the layer industry. Last but not least, a presentation with the topic “Nutrition Affecting Laying Performance and Egg Quality” was given by Dr. Ricardo Ito, Regional Poultry Technology Application Lead of Cargill’s Provimi Southeast Asia.
Lively discussions and Q & A section with the panels of speakers ensued as the audience actively raised questions and expressed their views. The event ended with closing remarks by Dr. Amanda Lim, stating “We look forward to have more events in the future in order to create a platform for all the proprietors and professionals to share their knowledge and latest information of this industry.”
