C Our Future with The Baker’s Cottage in Malaysia 1st December 2021
“Far too many children eating too little healthy food”. Unfortunately, this phenomenon is significant among children from lower income families, and it was demonstrated in a study conducted by UNICEF (Children Without: a study of urban child poverty and deprivation in low-cost flats in Kuala Lumpur) showing that 1 in every 5 children suffers from child stunting.
In front of this tough reality, there must be something we can do to help. With these shared beliefs, Ceva Animal Health Malaysia (“C Our Future” campaign) and Leong Hup International Berhad (The Baker’s Cottage) joined forces on 1st December 2021 to deal with this predicament of the children and families in Pangsapuri Kg Baru Hicom, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia.

During the event, 500 primary and kindergarten children from low-income families received a donation package with Baker’s Cottage’s Signature roasted chicken meal, a box with 10 Premium Omega-3 enriched “Happy Eggs” (sponsored by Teo Seng Capital Bhd.), the C Our Future’s reusable face mask and bags. On top of this, their parents have also received growth chart rulers and booklets with relevant nutritional information. These activities & educational items are aimed to increase the awareness of stunting and importance of consuming sufficient protein in the children’s daily diet.
More importantly, the message of “Embrace Chicken and Eggs to Break the Cycle of Child Stunting” was further emphasized to the educators and parents as they are directly involved in the children’s daily diet. Without a doubt, taking care of our children today ensures a better future tomorrow.
